The court has rejected the request of the defense of Leart Haxhi for the questioning as a witness of Orges Bilbili and Kaloshi, both friends of Haxhi.

Laert Haxhiu is being tried in absentia for what is known as the Lushnja Massacre that happened in September 2017 and was arrested in Greece in May 2023.
Haxhiu stayed in the neighboring country with forged documents. On his Greek residence permit, he was identified as Mikis Askalidis, 32, born in Georgia.
After the arrest in Ioannina, Interpol Athens sent the data to the Albanian authorities, who identified him.

The history of the Lushnje gang
The starting point of the bloody clashes between the gangs in Lushnje was the murder of Ramadan Shkurt, the brother of Alfred Shkurt (Aldo Bares), until then an effective member of the RENEA Forces. After the murder of his brother, Bare, in order to take revenge on the citizen Artur Daja, his companions, friends and relatives, created the so-called "Lushnje Gang".
Initially, Ilir Stergu, Afrim Hoxha, Arben Borici, Enver Boriçi, Enver Dondollaku, companions, friends and relatives of the defendant Aldo Bare and his brother Ramadan Shkurt, who were already killed, gathered in this group. Aldo Bare takes revenge on Artur Daja, who after executing him cuts off his head and kicks him in the streets of the city of Lushnje.
Chronology of the murders
Ramadan Shkurti is executed in 1997 by Artur Daja and his associates. On 21.10.1998 in the village of Grabian in the city of Lushnja, after an explosive explosion was heard, scattered parts of a human body were found at the scene.
On the day of the murder of Artur Daja, in the city square of Lushnja, members of the criminal group, led by Aldo Bare, walked around the square with the severed head of the corpse, Artur Daja. Among them, the defendants Ilir Stergu, Arben Borici, Erion Cici, Arjan Alico, Enver Borici, Enver Dondollaku, the murdered citizen Leonard Prifti, etc., were in the criminal event of exposing the severed head. All the victims were companions, friends of the citizen Artur Daja, who was the opponent of the head of the criminal organization led by Aldo Bare.
Crimes of the Lushnje Gang
On 03.08.1997 in the city of Lushnja, the Albanian-Macedonian citizen, Xhevat Demiri, was killed with a firearm. At the entrance to the city of Lushnja, the victim, along with his family members, were stopped by four armed persons, among whom were Ilir Stergu and Afrim Hoxha, Enver Dondollaku and Aldo Bare.
