New details have been published regarding the explosion that occurred in the village of Mamaj, in the municipality of Tepelena, where two people were injured after a grenade exploded.
According to sources from the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, the condition of the two injured, 34-year-old Lisjen Shehu and 28-year-old Xhuljano Sala, is currently stable. It is reported that they are under constant medical supervision, while they suffered injuries mainly to their hands and face as a result of the explosion.
The incident took place in a hut, where explosives were suspected to have been stored. The full circumstances remain unclear, while authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify the dynamics of the incident.
Police are verifying the origin of the explosive and whether it was illegally stored, while further developments are expected from the ongoing investigations.
