The Tirana Criminal Court has set security measures for minor protesters who were detained by police during the February 10 protest.
The court imposed the security measure "compulsory reporting" once a month for the 7 detained people, following incidents that occurred with the throwing of fireworks and Molotov cocktails at the police, mainly near the Parliament.
The security measures hearing for them was separate from the security measures hearing for the other 17 arrested people, aged between 18 and 36.
The minors and other detained persons have been charged with intentional grievous bodily harm, disturbing public order and peace, violating regulations on fuels, destroying property by fire, and resisting police.
As a result of the clashes, the police have reported the injury of 16 officers, while there is no data on how many citizens were injured as a result of the tear gas, water cannons, or pepper spray that was massively used.
Four MPs, Luan Baçi, Belind Këlliçi, Flamur Noka and Luçiano Boçi, as well as the organizational secretary Ervin Minarolli, have been placed under investigation for the protest.
The February 10 protest began on the "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard and moved to the Parliament building, where the strongest clashes between police and protesters were recorded. Protesters threw Molotov cocktails and other hard objects at the police, while the police responded with tear gas, water cannons, and rubber batons. During the clashes, MP Bledion Nallbati was also injured, as he was hit by police officers during an attack on the protesters.
