A 52-year-old Albanian man has been arrested by Italian police after a considerable amount of hashish was found in his apartment.
It was noticed that the dose packages carried the image of the famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, to make it even more marketable.
The operation was carried out by the Prato police, as part of the investigation coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, headed by Luca Tescaroli.
The 52-year-old Albanian was serving a suspended sentence. He was required to sleep in prison from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., but was free to leave during the day. During his free time, instead of integrating into society, he decided to resume his drug trafficking activities.
But he was followed and eventually caught by police in a house in San Giusto, on Via dei Gerani, where they found 15 kilograms of hashish: eighteen blocks were in two shoe boxes in the closet, sixteen blocks and other packages were in the bedroom and a hashish fragment was found in a vase in the kitchen, Italian media reports.
A 22-year-old Romanian man was with him. Both were arrested in flagrante delicto and the Prosecutor's Office requested pre-trial detention, a measure that was also ordered by the court.
