Belgian police international operation against the Albanian mafia, 17 people are arrested

17 people were arrested as a result of an international operation carried out this morning, where an Albanian criminal organization was hit.

The operation has been extended to several countries, while the Belgian media report that the investigation has started in the city of Antwerp. So far, 17 people have been arrested, 12 of them in Belgium.

Checks in Belgium took place in Antwerp, Schoten and Sint-Niklaas. They are the result of a collaboration between the Federal Judicial Police (PJF) and the local police in Antwerp.

It is learned that the operation has also been extended to Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria.

Meanwhile, new details are expected to be revealed in the coming hours.
