The police punish 235 drivers in Tirana, 17 others are arrested and prosecuted

Tirana Police has announced that during the past week, 17 drivers were arrested and criminally prosecuted for using vehicles while intoxicated or without a driving license, as well as for violating traffic rules.

235 vehicle drivers were punished with administrative measures for using mobile phones while driving. 173 drivers were punished for not giving priority to pedestrians, on white lines. 259 drivers were punished for not wearing a seat belt.

229 administrative measures have been imposed for failure to wear protective helmets by motor vehicle drivers. Also, 10 vehicles were blocked, for unpaid obligations, lack of documentation and for verifications, by the Section of Illegal Traffic in DVP Tirana.
