A serious incident occurred this evening in neighborhood no. 4 in Korça. It is learned that a conflict between two people ended in the use of a knife.
According to preliminary data, the suspected perpetrator is a 17-year-old with the initials PK, while the injured person is 37-year-old Benard Qelemani, who suffered injuries to his hand.
It is reported that the injured man had only arrived in Albania a few days ago, after having lived in Greece for a long time.
It is suspected that the conflict started as a result of a previous dispute between the parties. It is suspected that about two years ago, the injured person, Benard Qelemeni, robbed the apartment of the minor perpetrator. After the 17-year-old found him in the premises of the bar, a conflict broke out between them that escalated into a knife attack.
Currently, the juvenile perpetrator is in the premises of the Korça Police Station, while the injured person is receiving medical attention in hospital and is out of danger.
"In neighborhood no. 4, Korça, during a conflict, it is suspected that citizen PK injured the hand of citizen BQ, about 37 years old, resident of Korça, with a cutting tool (knife), who is currently in Korça hospital, out of danger to his life.
Police services have arrested and escorted to the police station premises for further action the suspected perpetrator of the incident, citizen PK.
"The investigative group, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, is working on the legal documentation of the case and the full clarification of the circumstances of the incident ," the police announced.
