Vlora police have arrested a 53-year-old man and prosecuted his 26-year-old son, accused of smuggling goods and medical medications.
According to a Police statement, the 53-year-old was caught red-handed while transporting medical medications suspected of being smuggled from Italy.
The Blues announce that the medications have been seized, while investigations are continuing to identify and apprehend other persons who may be involved in this illegal activity.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Vlora Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions.
"A case in the field of goods smuggling is being investigated.
They were trading in Vlora, goods that they were suspected of smuggling from Italy, the 53-year-old man is arrested, his son is being prosecuted.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Specialists of the Vlora Police Department, as a result of intensive controls and verifications carried out in various entities, with the aim of preventing, identifying and cracking down on illegal activities, based on information obtained through operational channels, have cracked a case of trafficking in smuggled goods.
Following the actions in this case, citizen P. Ç., 53 years old, was arrested and criminal proceedings were initiated against his son, citizen D. Ç., 26 years old, both residents of Vlora.
Citizen P. Ç. was caught red-handed by the Police services yesterday evening, transporting by vehicle, goods (medical drugs and mobile phones) suspected of being smuggled from Italy.
"Investigations are ongoing to document the criminal activity of these citizens and identify other citizens who may be involved," the police announced.
