State Police and British authorities evaluate the results of the joint task force and expand coordination in other security areas
The State Police and British partners confirmed the continuation of strategic cooperation in the fight against illegal migration and organized crime, considering the task force established between the two countries a mechanism with tangible results.
During the meeting between the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, and the Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Albania, Julia Sutherland, the parties assessed the effects of this coordination so far.
According to them, the cooperation has significantly reduced cases of illegal immigration to the United Kingdom and has cracked down on groups involved in organized crime.
Hita described the partnership with British law enforcement agencies as consolidated and said that the State Police remains engaged as an active partner in security issues, both domestically and abroad.
Cooperation between the two countries is also expanding into other areas, including Scientific Police, information technology, and border control. According to publicly available data, this coordination has also helped crack down on cases related to arms trafficking, money laundering, and the illegal introduction of capital.
Deputy Ambassador Sutherland said that this cooperation will be further expanded and praised it as an example of the exchange of expertise and mutual trust between the two countries.
