The Spanish police have seized a record amount of 1 ton of cannabis, while they have arrested 5 people, among them Albanians.
The coded operation "SERVANA" started in November of last year, as the investigators established that it was a perfectly structured organization of Albanian origin.
The Spanish media wrote that the organization had large industrial warehouses, which apparently lacked any kind of activity, although people lived inside and stayed at night, who were charged with securing, preserving and optimizing the production tasks of the intensive cultivation of " cannabis sativa” that was hidden inside. Their caretakers remained inside, with other levels of the organization tasked with supplying them with food, facility materials, and/or anything else they needed.
To accelerate plant growth they had the latest generation lighting material. To avoid detection, they had multiple industrial air conditioners that evacuated the smell of the substances. Given the volume of power they needed, they had created three-phase light installations, which they would trickle into the mains, generating huge power losses of more than 900 amps.
On February 28, the operation was carried out in the first phase, where 2 checks were carried out, one of them in an industrial warehouse in Xeresa and another in an apartment in the beach of Gandía. On March 25, in a second phase, another control was to be carried out in another industrial warehouse in the city of Rotova.
From both actions, almost 1 ton of cannabis sativa was seized, evidencing the seizure of 308 kilograms of buds in the drying process. Also, 7 industrial air conditioners, carbon filters, fans, extractors, tanks, lamps, reflectors, screens, etc., with a calculated value of 170,000 euros, were seized. Various electrical equipment used for indoor drying and cultivation, filters, industrial air conditioners, medium voltage transformers, portable marijuana cultivation and drying facilities were also seized. All this is estimated at a sum much higher than 250,000 euros. The total value of the existing material in both warehouses is about 420,000 euros.
As a result of these controls, 5 people were arrested, including the head of the above-mentioned organization, for 3 of whom the Judicial Authority has ordered prison terms. They are between 29 and 43 years old and have Albanian and Cuban nationality. Also, two other people, a man and a woman, 57 and 43 years old with Spanish nationality, are being investigated.
