The Special Court was not able to conduct this Thursday the trial in charge of Dritan Rexhepi of the other persons accused of the kidnapping of Jan Prenga. Dritan Rexhepi is accused of ordering the kidnapping of Prenga for the shipment of cocaine in England.
It is learned that at the start of the SPAK session, by means of a letter of recommendation, they informed that they will address the Turkish authorities in Ankara to notify Dritan Rexhepi about the trial.
The process against him in our country has started for several months, this Thursday the Prosecutor's Office will read the request for the evidence that will be brought to the process.
The State Police 6 days ago started the procedures for the extradition of Dritan Rexhepi to our country. The 43-year-old, described as the head of the drug cartel, was arrested this Friday in Istanbul with a Colombian passport, registered under the name Benjamin Omar Perez Garcia.
How Jan's kidnapping happened
Jan Prenga, father of three children, was kidnapped on January 17, 2020 in Kamëz, Tirana, a few days after being followed and watched closely. He fought with the kidnappers, but they were able to put him in a white Range Rover car and then transport him to the "Golden" complex, owned by Altin Hajri, a person accused of drug trafficking. Festim Bexhdili was the gardener of the "Golden" resort in Shijakut, from whose garage Jan Prenga's body was transported. SPAK managed hours of footage from the resort's cameras, which confirmed the movements of the people involved in the event.
