A robbery attempt was recorded on Friday evening in the city of Shkodra, at the premises of a branch of the Albanian Post.
The incident occurred at around 7:00 PM, in the "Vasil Shanto" neighborhood, where an unidentified person entered the post office wearing a hood and holding a knife. The perpetrator threatened the employee and attempted to take a sum of money, but failed to achieve his goal.
While leaving, he broke the window of the counter inside the post office premises. No injuries were reported from the incident, while only material damage was found.
Numerous police forces went to the scene and immediately began checks in the area. Investigations are underway under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office to identify the perpetrator and fully document the case.
The police continue their search for the suspect, while the situation at the post office has been brought under control.
"Around 19:00, in the "Vasil Shanto" neighborhood, a still unidentified citizen entered the premises of the Albanian Post branch and attempted to forcefully take a sum of money, but was unable to take it and while leaving, broke the window of the counter.
Police services immediately went to the scene and continue to search the area for his capture.
"The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to identify the perpetrator and legally document the case," the police announced.
