A 37-year-old man has been arrested by Durrës police, accused of a series of thefts.
According to the official announcement of the State Police, the arrested man, VK, 37 years old, was riding a bicycle in various neighborhoods of Durrës, breaking vehicle windows and stealing personal belongings, money and electronic devices.
He then used his vehicle to transport and hide the stolen items.
During the operation, the 37-year-old was caught red-handed while attempting to steal another vehicle.
"The police operation codenamed "Reflex" is being finalized to solve the thefts that occurred previously.
He was circulating on a bicycle in different neighborhoods of the city of Durrës, breaking vehicle windows and stealing personal belongings of vehicle drivers, and then using his vehicle to hide and transport the stolen items, the perpetrator has been identified and arrested. The 37-year-old from Tirana, the perpetrator of 5 burglaries, is suspected of having committed several other thefts, and work is ongoing to solve them. In continuation of the work to prevent thefts, solve those that occurred previously, identify and capture the perpetrators, the services of the Durrës Police Commissariat, after a long investigative work, based also on the information obtained in the operational route and from the administration of film footage, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Reflexi".
As part of the operation, a citizen VK, 37 years old, resident of Tirana, was caught red-handed, attempting to steal a vehicle, and was arrested. The investigative actions resulted in this citizen being the author of several vehicle thefts, which occurred in neighborhoods no. 6, 8 and 12 of the city of Durrës. This citizen stole from 5 vehicles, owned by citizens Xh. B., JB, SQ, LK and Xh. M., amounts of money, laptops and other personal belongings of the drivers of these vehicles. In cooperation with the Prosecution, investigative actions continue to uncover and document with legal evidence several other previously occurred thefts, which are suspected to have been committed by this citizen. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions", the police announced.
