Albanian man asked for help in the middle of the sea, Greek police find dinghy

A dinghy coming from the Albanian coast has issued an "SOS" signal near the Greek coast. The incident occurred in the maritime area between Igoumenitsa and Corfu, in a place called Prasoudi. Police boats from Corfu and Igoumenitsa immediately headed to the scene. Sources indicate that a request for help has also come to the border police of Saranda.

The Greek police have found a half-sunken raft at the scene and inside it the driver, an Albanian citizen. He has been transported to the Port of Igoumenitsa and then to Filati Hospital for medical assistance. Preliminary sources indicate that the driver of the raft is 50-year-old Edmond Musa from Saranda, known by the nickname "Çimoni", a person involved in international drug trafficking.

Initially, Musa was arrested for "illegal border crossing" and "sinking of a vessel". But having doubts, the police returned to the scene once again. Due to sea currents, the dinghy has now been found near Sajadha. During the search of the vehicle, as reported by the Greek media a few minutes ago, a large amount of marijuana was found, carefully hidden.

The narcotics are currently being transported to the Port of Igoumenitsa where they will be weighed, while investigations have begun into this case of international drug trafficking from Albania to Greece./ A2CNN
