Enri Hardolli, 28, was detained by the Guardia Civil, following the issuance of an arrest warrant by Italian authorities.

An Albanian citizen internationally wanted for drug trafficking has been arrested in Barcelona, Spain, following a coordinated operation between Italian and Spanish authorities.

Enri Hardolli, 28, was detained by the Guardia Civil after an arrest warrant was issued by Italian authorities. He is suspected of being one of the main suppliers of a cocaine distribution network operating in the Alta Padovana area, in Italy.

According to investigations, Hardolli had managed to evade justice by hiding in Spain, but was identified after continuing his criminal activity, supplying an Italian citizen with large quantities of drugs.

The Carabinieri of Cittadella, under the direction of prosecutor Benedetto Roberti, uncovered the network after the arrest of an Italian distributor. The latter is suspected of selling cocaine to various clients, including professionals.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the main supplier was Hardolli. Authorities reconstructed his movements and discovered family connections in Italy, specifically in Mestre and Spinea.

A key element in the investigation was the tracking of the suspect's father, who, although he denied contact with his son, was found to be frequently traveling to Spain. This led to the 28-year-old being located in Barcelona.

Hardolli had been involved in investigations since 2022 by the Trieste District Anti-Mafia Directorate and the Venice Guardia di Finanza, following the seizure of a quantity of four tons of cocaine.

The drugs are suspected to have originated in South America and were transported by cargo ship to the port of Trieste. Part of the operation was carried out through an undercover agent, who delivered 300 kilograms of cocaine to maintain the credibility of the criminal network.

Of this amount, only a portion was seized, while a significant amount remains unaccounted for.

Hardolli is currently being held in custody at the Montorio Veronese prison in Italy. According to investigations, his criminal activity continued at least until October 2023.

Meanwhile, the Italian citizen involved in the network has cooperated with justice and accepted the sentence.
