The Italian media have today published the names of two Albanians arrested in Italy, as they allegedly trafficked a large quantity of drugs from Albania by bus and then delivered them to an Italian citizen.
According to foreign media, the two arrested Albanians are Përparim Rakip, 39 years old, and Erion Tola, 42 years old, while the Italian citizen is Luigi Maggio, 31 years old.
During a specific surveillance service organized, police officers saw a car with 31-year-old Luigi Maggios on board leaving the garage of the Lainate building, which, after reaching Varese, stopped in Piazzale Kennedy, in the area used for parking buses coming from Albania.
The officers saw two men, 39-year-old Përparim Rakip and 42-year-old Erion Tola, who from a bus passed two large white envelopes to the Italian citizen, who placed them in the spare tire compartment of his car's trunk and then left.
The police, suspicious, followed the man to Cerro Maggiore, where he stopped at a red light. At that moment, he was stopped and subjected to checks.
Inside his car, in the spare tire compartment, was a false bottom where officers found 20 blocks containing approximately 23kg of cocaine and 6 blocks of heroin weighing approximately 3.5kg.
According to what was reconstructed by the agents of the Venice Garibaldi Commissariat, the seized narcotic was destined for the Milanese market in the areas of Loreto, Crescenzago, Lambrate and Forlanini, as it resulted from the investigations into the movements of the Italian citizen and from the indications found on his mobile phone . The 31-year-old Italian was sent to the Busto Arsizio prison (VA), while the two Albanian citizens were sent to the Varese prison.
