A serious event has shocked the Albanian community in Lucca, Italy, where four members of the Kola family lost their lives as a result of a gas leak.
The tragedy occurred on Wednesday evening, February 4, 2026, and it is suspected that the cause was a defect in the boiler of their three-story apartment.
The victims are Arti Kola, 48, his wife Jonida, 42, and their two children, Hajdar, 22, and Jessica, 15. A fifth person, the brother of the head of the family, was injured and is receiving treatment in hospital.
Two carabinieri, who arrived at the scene to provide first aid, also suffered mild intoxication, but are out of danger.
According to Italian authorities, the tragedy occurred around dinner time.
