A hearing has begun at the Durrës Court to determine security measures against Xhevdet Plaku and 6 other people, who were arrested two days ago while having lunch at a restaurant in Lalzi Bay.
In the operation of the RENEA forces, Xhevdet Plaku, who had escaped from prison in Italy, Voltan and Jugert Xhanin, Fatjon Qesjan, Oltion Hasani, Alfred Hasanaj and Flobenc Meçja (Gega) were detained.
The hearing at the Durrës court was preceded by numerous security measures, with FNSH forces creating a security perimeter outside the institution.
Xhevdet Plaku, known by the nickname "Kiss" from Durres, was declared an international wanted man after escaping from Ancona prison in January of this year. The 45-year-old had been convicted in the neighboring country for drug trafficking. While Flobens Meçja, alias Gega alias Drini from Shkodra, had been declared wanted by SPAK for a year, as part of the "Golden Bullet" file. The 43-year-old is accused of the criminal offenses of "Criminal organization" and "Providing conditions and means to commit murder."
Voltan Xhani is the main suspect in the organization of the murder of Elis Rroshkodoli in the "Ahmet Haxhiu" neighborhood in Shkodra on the afternoon of August 30, 2024. Police say that the 39-year-old, a resident of the Netherlands, provided the weapons and cars that were used in the murder, while his brother, Jugerti, supported him in the crime. The two brothers, according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau, are owners of several businesses.
