Law enforcement authorities in Greece have arrested the chief guard of a prison where a life sentence was executed two days ago.
Antonis Papadatos was executed in his cell by a Bulgarian, who was serving his sentence in Domokos prison.
Papadatos, according to Greek media, was shot in the eye by Albanian Alket Rizai, but not only. Security cameras revealed that the head of the prison guard was also at the scene when Papadatos was shot. The victim was shot with a bullet in the head, causing his instant death.
The footage incriminates the perpetrator and changes the course of events, as the chief guard is now accused of collaborating in Papadatos' murder.
The murder investigation continues, while the Bulgarian accused of being the executioner said he acted in self-defense.
Greek authorities are investigating how the weapon entered the prison, who brought it in, and how it was delivered to the cell of the suspected perpetrator of Papadatos' murder.
Greek investigators suspect that Papadatos' murder was the fulfillment of a "death contract," a crime committed on orders.
Referring to security camera footage, authorities have revealed that the murder was premeditated. According to Greek media, the Bulgarian called the victim claiming that the head of the prison guards was looking for him and then shot him.
