The murderer of police officer Klenti Bano 25 years ago in Lushnja, who also attempted to blow up the Roza Haxhiu stadium with explosives, has lost his appeal in an immigration tribunal after he applied to gain asylum in Great Britain.
Maksim Çela, one of Aldo Bare's closest associates, has not had his claims that his life was in danger in Albania and that the Home Office, the British Ministry of Internal Affairs, should grant him asylum ignored.
Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu has the decision issued by the Immigration Appeals Tribunal in London this Friday, which overturned the decision of the First Immigration Tribunal on June 19, 2023.
Under such circumstances, Judge Jeremy Rintoul upheld the Home Office's refusal of asylum.
Maksim Çela's main argument for gaining asylum in the United Kingdom is related to the claim that he could be executed in Albania.
The decision made available by Top Channel includes what Maksim Çela stated to the immigration appeals tribunal last month.
"The families of the Lushnja gang members have been attacked. My brother was able to stay in Albania, he was not targeted, and his wife and daughter had stayed for several years, but had been moved from time to time. They did this because there was no one else to bring me food and things in prison. That is why I did not ask to obtain documents from the Lushnja Police. If I had asked for them, I might not have been able to provide them."
"If you send me back to Albania," Maskim Çela said, "then I will have to stay alone inside like in a bunker, and this is not the life I want."
To strengthen his positions in the asylum search, Maksim Çela has also included Sali Berisha's two non gratas.
"The Prime Minister at the time I was convicted was declared Non Grata in America and Great Britain. This shows that even though things in Albania have improved, there is still room to improve security aspects. After the publication of news about me by the British media, the threats against me have increased. In a country where you can bribe a policeman with 50 euros, this means a risk to my life and that protection against me cannot be effective in a country with crime and corruption."
But the immigration tribunal in London concluded that there is no real risk to Maksim Çela's life in Albania, which would allow him to remain in the UK, and thus his deportation does not pose any problem or concern.
He has 21 days to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court.

The Sun, e respektoi vendimin e gjykatës duke publikuar një shkrim në prill 2023 pa detaje që do të çonin në identifikimin e Maksim Çelës, përfshi krimet për të cilat ishte dënuar në Shqipëri, si pjesë e njërës prej bandave më famëkeqe në historinë e kriminalitetit shqiptarë.
Por The Sun, zhvilloi një betejë 23 mujore në gjykatë, duke argumentuar se ishte në interes të publikut mësimi emrit të Maksim Çelës dhe krimeve të kryera në Shqipëri.
Tabloidi më i madh britanik e fitoi betejën në gjykatë duke i hequr anonimatin Maksim Çelës, dhënë në Prill 2023 nga gjykata emigracionit.
Ky zhvillim e ka vendosur Maksim Çelën në faqen e parë të gazetës The Sun online me Titull:
“Mostrës i çirret Maska, vrasësi dhe terroristi shqiptarë i lirë rrugëve të Mbretërisë së Bashkuar, beteja e The Sun për të hequr anonimatin”.

Për herë të parë pas vrasjes të djalit më 14 Prill 2000 në qytetin e Lushnjës, organizuar prej Enver Dondollakut, Maksim Çelës dhe Dritan Vilës, nëna e Klenti Banos, ish mësuesja e matematikës, Katia Bano ka thyer heshtjen.
Në rrëfimin e saj të parë për The Sun te cilit i referohet Top Channel, 77-vjeçarja Bano shprehet se “vrasja e djalit Klenti Bano ishte një sulm i drejtpërdrejtë ndaj shtetit”.
E pyetur për mbërritjen në Angli të vrasësit të djalit të saj ajo ka bërë këtë pohim për ‘The Sun’.
"I am amazed that Maksim Çela managed to enter the UK and that my son's killer is now free there. He deserved life in prison for killing an innocent man who was serving the state and I don't understand why he is tolerated in Britain. It really bothers me to know that he has a new life there and my son is resting in his grave," the 77-year-old says. / Top Channel
