Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi, 44, was killed by a bullet to the leg that caused a cerebral hemorrhage. Gjirokastra police have identified the perpetrator as 48-year-old Kamber Sulçaj from the village of Mesaplik in Vlora and have declared him wanted.
According to the dynamics known from the investigations so far, the parties were involved in a momentary quarrel over the high beams of the car. Then, the perpetrator Sulçaj fired a shotgun with combat ammunition. The bullet ricocheted off the asphalt of the road and hit the 44-year-old businessman, killing him.
But no gun casing was found at the scene.
As stated by the testimonies of the Italian businessman's friends who were together, the perpetrator shot 2-3 times.
While no shell casings were found at the scene, the Gjirokastra Blues have searched the crime scene at least twice.
Shqiptarja.com has learned that the scene was also checked with metal detectors by the Gjirokastra investigative group, however, no shell casings were found there.
But an interesting fact was discovered in the author's apartment in the village of Mesaplik in Vlora, where he also resides.
According to sources, the police have found a large amount of shotgun shells there. Among them are some very old shells.
A fact that shows that Kamber Sulçaj was apparently obsessed with gun casings and collected them.
We recall that the 48-year-old often shot with a gun because he went hunting.
Perhaps, for this reason, in the murder of the Italian businessman, Kamber Sulçaj may have taken care to collect the casings or may have shot from inside his vehicle, leaving no trace at the scene.
An important detail to note is the fact that the crime weapon, a shotgun with live ammunition, used primarily for hunting wild boars, was not seized by the police.
It is not known whether Kamber Sulçaj has thrown/hid it somewhere, or whether he possesses it while he is still on the run.
The 48-year-old remains wanted and the blue uniforms are continuing their work to capture him./Alqsiptarja
