Gazmend Buçpapaj, who was arrested the day before, as suspected of being the author of the murder of Egli Pashollar, has testified before investigators.
He did not provide any explanations for the motives of the incident, but expressed remorse and apologized to the family of the murdered 31-year-old.
He had been wanted by the police since February 20, after he stabbed Pashollar in the back after a brief altercation and fled the scene, but was captured yesterday.
How did the incident happen?
The incident occurred on February 20, at around 3:40 p.m., when an argument about blocking the road escalated into physical violence. Gazmend Buçpapaj, along with his wife and another person, physically confronted the 31-year-old, and the conflict escalated into the use of a knife. The 40-year-old stabbed Pashollari in the back during the argument, a wound that would prove fatal for the young man.
After the incident, the suspects drove away in Buçpapaj's vehicle. The vehicle was then abandoned and they took a taxi to their apartment in the Sharra area. After arriving home, Gazment Buçpapaj fled in an unknown direction.
Later, Buçpapa's wife was escorted to the police station and interrogated, where she also gave her testimony.
