New details have been revealed from the arrest of the former leader of the Durrës gang, Lulzim Berisha.

The much-wanted Lulzim Berisha was hiding in Spain, with Bulgarian papers.

The Constitutional Court, on May 27, 2022, decided to uphold the decision of the Supreme Court of December 7, 2021, which decided to return to prison the former leader of the Durrës Gang, Lulzim Berisha.

We recall that on January 16, 2012, Lulzim Berisha was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Court of First Instance of Serious Crimes for five murders and several assassinations. The organization headed by him was accused of murdering Dritan Sallak, Viron Curri, Arjan Paja, Marsel Sotir, Dritan Disha and Ervin Lames.

Berisha was released on bail from prison on December 5, 2016, 5 years ahead of schedule. The judicial body of the Durrës Court of Appeal was chaired by Arben Vrioni, with members Petrit Çenon and Anita Micin. In 2020, Berisha was declared wanted by SPAK, for other serious crimes, which occurred 17 years ago, but were revealed only three years ago.
