The writer Mira Meksi has narrated details from her book "Parisi kills" based on a true story from her publisher. The book deals with a trip of the writer Ismail Kadare to Paris and the job of a secret police agent.
Jetona Koçibelli: We have in our hands "Parisi vret", the book which was awarded the prize of the fair, I am glad that we can talk in this part of the program about your latest work because it has aroused a lot of controversy. The story is simple, an Albanian writer, who in the early 90s, is in Paris, there he goes to visit a very famous girl from the capital, and then the events take their course. The public has identified these characters with the real characters of Tirana of those years, but also of today. What have been the comments, is it true?
Mira Meksi: From the beginning of the novel, there is a dedication, and the dedication goes to Bujar Hudri, who is my publisher, but he is the one who narrated the event to me, because practically the essential idea of this novel is conceived in this confession of his, which is real and we are talking about Kadare, it is September of 1990 while the Berlin Wall has fallen, the regime of Tirana has been shaken, there are murders on the Albanian border, while others leave with those buses and funeral processions, so it is a tollov and exceptional. It is at this moment that the great writer receives an invitation, the writer of my novel receives an invitation, and for the first time he is allowed to travel alone.
