The Albanian government has given preliminary approval to a plan proposed by Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law, to build a $1.4 billion luxury hotel complex in Sazan.
Regarding this discussion, there are still skeptical people who do not believe that a co-investment by Albania in this project can be achieved.
Invited to the "Now" show on Euronews Albania, the leader of the 'Mundësia' party, Agron Shehaj, emphasized that Rama's role in this situation is simply to use state property.
" We are dealing with the exercise of absolute power by a poor Balkan country that has a prime minister who can do whatever he wants."
"To do this, the laws have been changed. The law on strategic investments is a law that was made for Rama so that he could decide everything. The law on protected areas has also been changed. The political problem we have is that we are faced with the absolute power of one man ," he said.
Afterwards, Shehaj focused on the economic issue of whether the Sazan project is a common interest, where Albanians can also benefit. He also leaves room to understand that according to him, the Sazan project may not be implemented.
" As for strategic investments, it is thought that billions of euros are being invested. There is talk of a staggering amount of 1.4 billion euros for Sazani."
"For the port of Durres, all of Albania should have been happy because there was talk of 2.2 billion euros. What is happening is that there is talk of investing in 200 buildings, none of them have been finished, it is not known when they will be finished. We are only talking about papers ," said Agron Shehaj, chairman of the 'Mundësia' party.
