Speaker Lindita Nikolla has reacted after the suicide of the mother of 4 children in Durrës, who was bullied and denigrated on the social network "TikTok".
While expressing his regret for the serious incident, Nikola warned of the tightening of legislation for online media and the Criminal Code for cybercrimes.
Nikola has called on the justice bodies to give the perpetrators the punishment they deserve.
"A mother of four sacrificed herself because of denigration on social media. The children and the husband lost their most beloved man, who had called them to enjoy the holidays together.
I call on the justice bodies to give the perpetrators the maximum punishment they deserve.
This tragic event should serve as a strong appeal for society and institutions.
The Assembly will immediately reconsider, with priority, the tightening of the legislation for online media and the Criminal Code, especially the provisions related to cybercrime, attacks, insults and aggressiveness in social networks.
Law enforcement agencies must react faster, with more force and efficiency to prevent such cases, which occur before the eyes of the entire society and cause tragic events and family trauma.
