The Parliament of Albania has officially notified the Special Prosecutor's Office of the removal of Sali Berisha's immunity.

With 75 votes in favor, the Assembly removed the 'shield' from Sali Berisha.

The Assembly voted in favor of authorizing the Special Prosecutor's Office to continue the procedures for the arrest/imprisonment of Berisha, who is being investigated for corruption in the privatization of the former Partizani complex.

Berisha was present at the session when the vote was taken, but he did not take the floor while outside he called it unconstitutional.

The 75 votes of the socialists opened the way for SPAK to turn to the GJKKO for tightening the security measure for Berisha, who refused several times to implement the decision of the GJKKO to appear before the judicial officer.

It is learned that none of the deputies of the Democratic Party were present at the session. Neither the chairman Lulzim Basha nor Enkelejd Alibeaj who prepared the report of the Council of Mandates submitted to the assembly where he declared his position in favor of the arrest of Sali Berisha.

Meanwhile, Argita Malltezi, the daughter of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, and a small group of militants gathered outside the Parliament and protested.

Prime Minister Edi Rama was also in the vote.

The session in the Assembly lasted no more than 8 minutes after the Reestablishment MPs tried to repeat the scenario of chaos with stacks of chairs and smoking. But the chaos as announced could not stop the voting.

The 10 MPs who had the expulsion decision from the Ethics Secretariat in force were banned from entering.
