Following the interview on the podcast "Të Pashoq", Gjergj Zefi, editor of Pamflet, focused on the name of Lea Ypi, widely discussed in recent days as a possible technical prime minister or as Edi Rama's successor at the head of the government.
Zefi recalled that "Pamphlet" was the first to publicly mention Ypi's name as a possible political figure, back in March 2023, at a time when many considered such a scenario impossible or unbelievable.
" I wrote about Lea Ypi in March 2023, when no one thought this. Some told me that what I wrote was nonsense, but there were also those who told me that you are very far-sighted ," said Zefi.
According to him, Ypi is not a name that comes from the structures of the Socialist Party or from the political base of this party, but is a "personal project of Rama", a strategic move to have a figure who can represent a controlled transition of power or a restoration of the government's image on the international level.
-How do you see Lea Ypi's future? There has been talk of her as a technical prime minister, or as a successor to Edi Rama. "Pamfleti" was among the first to name her.
Gjergj Zefi: To be honest, I wrote about Lea Ypi in March 2023, when no one thought about it, and some people even said to me, 'what nonsense you're writing'. But there were also those who said to me, 'you're very far-sighted'. We said that she could be an alter ego of the Prime Minister of Albania. Not as the Socialists' chosen one, but as the chosen one of Edi Rama himself. Even the title at that time was, "neither Lali, nor Belinda". Because here the alter ego of the Prime Minister was being played for. And this is not that we are fortune tellers, but the idea was that, if you were to closely analyze the situation, the way she behaved in the political market, in the European market, the way Rama was giving her books as gifts to former presidents, presidents and all the political leadership in Europe, we did an analysis and the analysis led us here and showed that we were not wrong.
-Do you see it in this variant that you gave much earlier or in the one that is being discussed?
Gjergj Zefi: I see it as inevitable, from the very movements of that lady, that she will deal with politics and that she will engage in politics. Then where, the alter ego of the prime minister, deputy prime minister, where I know, these are issues that belong to the step-by-step developments that will occur in politics. Because at the moment, if Rama does not decide to have a technical government, there is no reason for him to make her a technical prime minister. Then Rama does not have the technical government in his own hands, because if he did, he would not make it technical at all.
