The appeal to the Constitutional Court for the dismissal of Erion Veliaj, the MP of the Together Movement Redi Muçi, described it as an unexpected decision.
Muçi said that the decision to dismiss him was political.
" His dismissal was a political decision by Rama and this appeal by Veliaj was not expected. Veliaj has supported Edi Rama, this is the first step that Veliaj takes against Rama, but the strongest weapon in his hand is cooperation with justice. He has this weapon in his hand and let's see if he will have the courage to use it. The campaign costs us a lot of effort because we closed it on May 11, but we owe the citizens of Tirana a worthy candidate. But our participation is important in these elections, I think that a real change can come in the case of the Municipality of Tirana ", he said.
He said that the Together Movement still does not have a candidate name, as it has not yet been determined whether or not the partial elections for Tirana will be held.
" We don't have a concrete name, because we haven't deemed it appropriate to hold a meeting for a candidate because it is not yet known whether elections will be held. But I wouldn't limit the candidate to just me and Qori, because there are many capable people in this movement ," he said.
Muçi said that this movement will not cooperate with any other party.
" The new forces are in an approach with the DP to come together and here we are divided in our approach. But the problem is with what the DP represents and those small actors who go behind it. We reject what the DP and the SP represent, we aim to multiply the number of votes in these elections by having the same approach that we have always had. There have been no discussions or negotiations with the DP. We believe that change can come from the citizens of Tirana to set an example that a big change can happen in Albania ," he said.
