The members of the Laws Commission of the Democratic Party of the grouping of Sali Berisha and Gazment Bardhi filed today in the Constitutional Court the appeal of the Law on Investigative Commissions.

33 MPs of the opposition put their signatures to send the Law of Investigative Commissions to the Constitutional Court and Dhurata Çupi submitted the request to the Constitutional Court.

She said that with this law the majority intends to deprive the opposition of the right to control the government, while she requested the suspension of the law until the final decision.

Çupi has called on the members of this court to maintain the dignity and integrity of the post they hold.

"I call on the Constitutional Court to live up to the integrity of the position of a member of the Supreme Court. I remind you that they are not a structure of the SP, but it is an institution that must uphold the integrity of the institution they represent. There is a practice that recognizes the right of the parliamentary minority as an instrument to control the executive power," said Dhurata Çupi, among other things, in her speech.

We remind you that amid the chaos, the Assembly voted on December 21 the Law on Investigative Commissions. With 75 votes in favor, the new law was voted, which clearly defines the object of investigative commissions according to the socialists.

According to the socialists, the new law clarifies the balance between the legislature and the justice bodies, while it clearly defines when an investigative commission will be established, while according to the majority, until now investigative commissions have been used for political warfare.

The opposition has opposed these legal changes and considers them to be attempts by the majority to remove the rights that the Constitution gives to the opposition.

The establishment of investigative commissions is one of the 3 conditions that Reestablishment has to restore normality in the Assembly.
