The Democratic Party is holding its next protest in Tirana today, this time in a different format than previous rallies. Without a central rally and without speeches from political leaders, the protest is expected to take the form of a march through the main institutions of the capital.
The gathering of protesters is planned in front of the Prime Minister's Office, but unlike other times, no podium has been set up and a detailed organizational scenario has not been made public. According to sources, the goal is to convey the political message through movement on the ground and not through speeches.
After the initial meeting, the protesters are expected to march towards several state institutions. One of the stops could likely be the headquarters of the Socialist Party, which could lead to tensions and blockage of the main roads in the capital. Earlier, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha warned that the protests could also move towards the headquarters of the Socialist Party, not excluding escalation scenarios. For this reason, police forces have been deployed near the socialist headquarters.
It has been previously confirmed that there will be no ban near the Parliament and the use of pyrotechnics is not foreseen.
The State Police have announced that they will not guarantee the smooth running of the protest if institutions are violated, while around 1,500 officers have been placed on standby. The forces have been deployed near buildings of particular importance, including the Prime Minister's Office, which is armored with a metal fence.
The "Eagle" units have been equipped with fire extinguishers as a preventive measure, taking into account incidents recorded in previous protests.
This is the fourth national protest organized by the DP for 2026, following the rallies of January 24, February 10 and 20. The opposition demands the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a technical government that will prepare early elections. / Pamphlet
