Berisha maneuvers to save the deputy's mandate, asks for interpellation with Rama; will the prime minister save him?

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has started maneuvers to save the burning of the mandate of the deputy.

On June 20, it will be 6 months since he did not enter the Assembly, and legally Lindita Nikolla must request the removal of the mandate. But the former prime minister has made a surprise move before tomorrow's session.

Berisha submitted to the Assembly a request for an urgent interpellation with Rama, for the tenders benefited by his family members and for the secret tenders. The request was submitted today.

According to the regulation, the requesting deputy in this case, Sali Berisha, has the right to present the interpellation, reading it from the hall of the Assembly of Albania.

It seems to be a kind of move to save Prime Minister Rama, since if the head of the government accepts the interpellation, then to some extent it legitimizes Berisha to go to the Assembly.

Does this mean that Berisha can leave the house and go to the Assembly, become part of the plenary session that will take place this Wednesday? That remains to be seen tomorrow.

On the other hand, it has been stated that Sali Berisha's term ends on June 21, as he has been under "house arrest" for 6 months and has not been allowed to appear in Parliament.

It remains to be seen how his absence will be interpreted, whether it will be considered justified or not.

While he is under house arrest, former Prime Minister Berisha has asked several times for permission to leave the apartment, where through his lawyers he has asked to go to the Parliament, but the Supreme Court has rejected Berisha's appeal.

The former prime minister is accused of passive corruption as he is being investigated for the case of the Partizani complex, a case for which he was handcuffed and then released under house arrest, as well as his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi.
