The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has accused the majority and its representatives of attacks on the opposition, citing cases of political pressure and tensions in the Assembly, while adding that the current situation for women and girls in the country is difficult.
Berisha alleged that a deliberate political and institutional campaign is being waged against the opposition to weaken it. He stressed that these developments pose a threat to the normal functioning of democracy in the country.
"I thank Albana and all of you for the topic you have chosen. An extremely important topic at all times, but in the most difficult times this takes on even greater importance. We live, dear friends, in an autocratic dictatorship. A regime in which the spaces of freedom are narrowed as a whole for citizens, but they are much narrower for the opposition. We live in a regime that from morning to night has on its agenda the unprincipled war, the savage war against the opposition and its leaders and exponents. You are witnesses to how Albana Vokshi, because she has defended the principles that we believe in, has defended you, the values, has been attacked in the most savage way, even targeted in her family, by the bandits of this government, not only the bandits on the ground, but the bandits in parliament, because these are our conditions. The one who attacked Albana in parliament and whose name is Taulant Balla, is an orderer of murders with official documents.
The person who today heads the Socialist Party group and who circulates as a representative of this pseudo-majority around the world, he is a person who appears in the court file as having ordered a murder and that this court file has been eliminated, destroyed by a court decision and the prosecutor to protect him. It is not just one case, but there are several cases within it. So, can you tell me, is there a difference between that ignorant person who attacked the Albanian woman and her daughter at the voting center and the head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group who attacked her in the parliament hall?
