Democratic leader Sali Berisha has challenged Prime Minister Edi Rama by inviting him to a debate, where the latter will be the one to set the terms.
During a meeting with citizens, as part of the campaign for the May 11 elections, Berisha said that he would invite Edi Rama to debate whenever and wherever he wanted.
" This year is the year of the diaspora and you have seen with what longing, with what love, with what determination they registered and will come to vote to change Albania."
But Albania will also change towards them. Any of your family members who wants to return to their country will have 5 years of no taxes. Let them come, invest the profits they have created, hire someone else, let's continue. There are accumulated problems here ," Berisha said.
Meanwhile, he has called on Rama to stop monologues and engage in debate.
" Stop the monologues every morning with toads, lizards and herons and order us, sir, to go out as you wish, with journalists, without journalists, with citizens, without citizens, order us to go out and present our program for the Albanian citizen and Albania. He can't come because now I understand, he is afraid of himself. Yes, absolutely.
I realized that from morning to night he believes his own lies. He takes out a passport, produced thanks to that reform we made, and says, "Here is the European passport."
But you forget that the DNA of integration is the DNA of the DP. This is the truth ," Berisha said.
