Prime Minister Rama has responded to calls from Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, who appeals for all young people to download VPN in order to access the Tik Tok social network.
Rama said that downloading this application is dangerous, as according to him, hackers can steal all personal data through the mobile phone.
From the "Besnik Sykja" school in Tirana, Rama stated that through the ANA and the Ministry of Education, the government has entered into discussions with the "Tik Tok" company, asking them for more filters.
"I'm glad that Tik Tok has been shut down and we have provided students with protection from a very negative influence that was hovering over them 24/7. I repeat for everyone and it's good that your teachers are telling parents and students that trying to install Tik Tok using free VPNs is very dangerous because they make the phone completely vulnerable to theft with all the data inside."
We have entered into a dialogue with the company through the ANA and the Ministry of Education and have requested from the company that if it wants to have access in Albania, it must present us with a credible and convincing proposal for a certain number of filters for our children and a specific program to stimulate learning, teaching science, mathematics, etc. Meanwhile, it must guarantee us that children are protected from dangerous parts. The company has taken it seriously and has promised to present this proposal to us. What the company will offer us will have to be shared with teachers and parents. I hope that in the not too distant future they will come and we will come back to you and we will share this data that we will get from the company's proposal", said Rama.
