At the "Power of Crime" debate, today former Prime Minister Sali Berisha accused the Rama Government of having ties to organized crime gangs in the country.
In his speech at this roundtable, Berisha also revealed a conversation he had with Edi Rama in 2013, when the socialists took power.
"In 2013, with the change of power, on the day of the inauguration of the government, I addressed Edi Rama with these words: Your connections with crime are universal and universally known. Albanians were amnestied for voting. But the fate of this society will depend on the connections you will keep with crime. Will you cut them off or continue them. If he continues them, being prime minister, this will be a disaster for Albanians. When I told Edi Rama that your ties to crime are universal, I told him the truth because he was, on many occasions, the only mayor in the world who, instead of being protected by the guards, took murderers and traffickers as shields . Berisha says that today the Albanian society is on the verge of suicide due to the spread of crime.
"Time proved that after 10 years, due to the terrible spread, close partnership, the Albanian society is on the verge of suicide due to crime. Today, the absolute remote decision maker in this country is crime, crime, crime. Krimi today, exalted to power at the level of the prime minister, is capable of passing any law in the parliament.
