Democratic MP Jorida Tabaku, analyzing the boycott of the parliament in 2019 and leaving the local elections, declared that it was a mistake with great costs for the opposition.
Invited to the show "Real Story" on "Abc News", Tabaku said that 10 years in the opposition show that it is time for the Democratic Party to change its model and not deal with itself. She added that the DP must make a political offer today if it wants to return to power.
" It is about a system that has become a culture in the administration that we must eradicate. Corruption happened in 30 years, but how it was perfected in these 10 years and what happened in these 10 years, I don't know. Looking at it from the point of view of being the opposition, I very much agree with you that maybe we have said that these things are bad, that this model does not work, it kills meritocracy, it destroys the system and that of free professions is actually the same thing system crash. We must now be in the moment of how we will do it differently.
And we have not done this well enough or properly. Leaving the parliament in 2019 for me has taken away the value of the parliament and to this day if the parliament is seen as an institution that does not have the value it should have, it comes precisely from that. Leaving the local elections are costs that we have to bear. And when I say we, I mean me and everyone who made the decision about it. We cannot act as if the opposition started today. We have been in the opposition for 10 years, we need to change the model, talk to people about how we will do it differently and not to deal with ourselves and how today different people are involved in the opposition in different positions, but we must definitely "We give them a political offer, and this political offer is time ," said Tabaku.
