The Economy Committee met today to discuss "On the creation of the state company for the production and trade of weapons, ammunition, equipment and military technologies".
They are also being examined in the capacity of the committee for giving the opinion of the draft law "On the approval of the Long-Term Plan for the Development of the Armed Forces 2024-2033".
During this meeting, SP deputy Erion Braçe also spoke, who asked the officials of the Ministry of Defense what the security strategy is.
Braçe said that there should be an insurance strategy, since Albania is "on the back" of a terrible event.
"You said that the Gramsh and Poliçan military enterprises are being liquidated?! What happens to these after this moment. Not only the ease of this business should be taken into account, we have terrible events on our backs and safety should also be considered. That's why I'm asking where it will go?", he said.
The Deputy Minister of Defense, Dorian Tola, stated that the first priority when the law was created was security by listing security guarantees, which according to him were based on NATO rules.
"Their assets are transferred to the private company with all its assets. We had safety in mind when we thought of this law.
A part of those who will come will not go to the high places because they will want to be close to the developed infrastructure, close to the transport points, ports, railways or all the points that have the possibility to circulate the goods more easily.
On the other hand, in terms of security, our priority is that these areas will have a guarantee of security, relying on several ongoing consultations according to strict NATO rules and the national security strategy, said Tola.
