Ditmir Bushati overthrows the Open Balkans: It was a way out of trouble, it did

The former foreign minister, Ditmir Bushati, has overthrown the Open Balkans.

During an interview for "Real Story", he emphasized that the Open Balkans was rather a 'way out of trouble' since the economy does not support this process. Asked by journalist Sokol Balla, he said that people want to leave to countries where they are paid better, as in the case of Germany.

" It seems to me rather a way out of trouble, in the conditions when in all these years, the EU has not prioritized the enlargement process. I'm not saying it's not useful. The economy does not support this process because the dentist, nurse, architect or hairdresser will not go from Belgrade to Tirana or from Pristina to Podgorica. We want to go where they pay better and everyone is in the direction of Germany.

Here I was critical of Germany's position. It is within its right to absorb labor power, but we cannot be the depository of human resources to cover the gaps in the German market. There should also be a moral responsibility because it contradicts the essence of European integration which is to build Europe here. Why do I say that it is a way out of trouble but not useless?

Because what you asked for is not offered, so that no one counts the 90 days at the border. Useful because there may be some regulated profession that can benefit from this and adds to the culture of cooperation between citizens and countries in the region. But it does not replace the main need which is the same, despite us shouting that people are fleeing, it is the same in all the countries of the region.

This process must address this and the fact that there is a promise that was made years ago at the summit, this time in the Berlin process, to give our countries the opportunity to have access to structural funds and to gradually enter the market large EU, is a very good opportunity to mitigate the development gap not between us and Europe but also the EU member countries that surround us ", stressed Bushati.
