Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha appeared today at the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, to be questioned about the "Partizani" case.
As it should be from the photos, Berisha appeared smiling, greeting his deputies and supporters, in the presence of many cameras and journalists.
Berisha has been under house arrest since December 30, 2023.
He is accused of "passive corruption" related to the affair, for which his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi was also handcuffed. The latter is under investigation for money laundering.
The former prime minister will be questioned by prosecutors Enkeleda Minollai and Arben Kraja, while before the start of the session there were increased police forces in front of the Special Structure.
Likewise, Berisha, through his lawyers, requested to participate in the parliamentary sessions, which was rejected by SPAK on January 18. In the disclosed decision, it is stated that the Code of Criminal Procedure does not provide for such permission. The prosecutors emphasize that the needs assessed by the court on the basis of which the "house arrest" measure was set must prevail in the report
