The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has started the meeting with supporters in the city of Korça by also talking about the latest international developments.
Berisha said that according to him, "alarm sirens" are sounding from Washington about the corruption of Prime Minister Edi Rama's government and its links to crime.
"Do you now hear the alarm sirens sounding from Washington about the corruption of Rama's government and its connection to crime? We triumphed," Berisha declared in front of supporters, referring to the Western Balkans Democracy and Prosperity Act from the US Congress.
According to Berisha, today the opposition is in a new phase, clearer and more determined than ever before.
"Today we are more clear-headed and more determined than ever in history," he said, adding that the DP has proven to international opinion, according to him, with thousands of documents, that Prime Minister Rama is "the enemy of the Albanian vote."
In his speech, Berisha accused the government of not holding free and fair elections, but only an electoral farce.
"He does not hold elections, but only an electoral farce, and this is an extraordinary achievement, because it gives us the right to demand the punishment he deserves," he said.
