Gazment Bardhi, head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, has announced the filing of new facts in SPAK regarding the McGonigal file. Bardhi's reaction comes at a time when the US Department of Justice has published documents from the file of the former head of counterintelligence of the FBI office in New York, Charles McGonigal.
Bardhi demands full transparency and urges the Special Prosecution Office to remove the "dust" from the Rama-McGonigal file.
According to him, no one should be above the law and citizens deserve to know the truth.
"The publication of the file with new data on the Rama-McGonigal affair by the US Department of Justice is mostly an alarm bell for the Special Prosecution Office that this case can never be forgotten."
As the whistleblower of this affair in SPAK, on Monday I will officially present to the special prosecutors the new data made public by the US Department of Justice, with the hope that this new development there will dust off the criminal file in Albania.
Also, in accordance with the rights granted to me by the criminal procedural law, I will re-request information on the investigation of this matter and the investigative actions that have been carried out during this time, hoping that this time SPAK will not prohibit me from publishing the information by decision. Citizens have the right to have full transparency on this investigation and its progress. No one can be treated as untouchable and above the law", says Bardhi.
