Antony Blinken will come to Tirana tomorrow for the first time. The American Secretary of State will have a series of meetings, but the one that is seen with the most interest is the meeting with the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani.
After meeting Rama, Begaj and representatives of the embassy along with several groups of young people, in the evening Blinken will sit down at a dinner with Altin Dumani and next to him will be the one who fought hard for Dumani to be in charge of SPAK. We are talking about Yuri Kim. OPDAT experts and embassy representatives who supervise justice will also be at the table. At that table, Blinken is expected to provide strong support for SPAK and the possibility of giving instructions to strike at the highest levels is not ruled out.
But who should be concerned by this meeting? The first ones are obviously those who have the mountain files in SPAK. The prosecutor's office has several sensational files that it keeps pending due to pressures and interventions, but with Blinken's departure, we may have developments.
The first to worry is Edi Rama. SPAK has opened the "McGonigal" file and Blinken comes a day before the trial held in the USA for the Albanian file. The Americans have their base in the fight against corruption and do not forgive an Albanian citizen corrupting an official of theirs. Blinken cannot avoid meeting Rama because he is the Prime Minister, but Duman can be given orders not to tolerate anyone, even the Prime Minister.
The second name is Ilir Meta. The latter has several files that have been copied, but it is still unknown why SPAK does not act. It is learned that the CEZ-DIA affair is nearing the end, as there will be developments in the matter of lobbying in the US, but this case is not forgiven by the Americans. It has been talked about for a long time that Meta could be arrested and yesterday the leader of the PL was not at all enthusiastic about this visit.
Undoubtedly, Berisha is the third name. He is in solitary confinement, but SPAK has other files in charge of him and Shkëlzen Berisha. We have Gërdec, we have a lawsuit from Haklajt. Berisha is attacking and threatening the prosecutors, even Dumani himself and the Americans will support him not to take a step back. The signals were given today, after the judges of GJKKO went to the US embassy.
We have Ilir Beqaj. The latter managed to stay away from the cell thanks to the large amount of money he threw and Rama's interventions. But with Blinken's visit, maybe things will change.
Olta Xhjaçka and Frida Krifca must also be sleepless. SPAK is investigating both the affair with the privatization of properties on the coast, as well as the affair with IPARD funds. Another file is that of incinerators and Veliaj should be worried. There are also several directors, mayors, etc., who are being investigated.
