Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced a series of possible changes to local administration and territorial control structures, including interventions in the Institutions for the Protection of Territory (IMT) and municipal police.
Rama, through a Facebook post today, emphasized that these reforms aim to bring significant improvements in territorial management, while emphasizing that there will be a special focus on the use of technology to increase efficiency and transparency in these structures.
"There will be an escalation of movements with the leaders in the municipality and also similar movements in the territorial control structures. This includes the famous IMT and the municipal police, where there will be major reforms. But, the center of these changes will be technology," Rama declared.
This plan includes a possible restructuring of institutions, with the aim of modernizing and increasing their capacities to face the challenges of territorial management and increasing urbanization. The use of technology is highlighted as a key element to advance this process and to ensure more control and efficiency in the work of these institutions.
This warning from Rama comes a few weeks after ordering layoffs in the country's municipalities.
The head of government did not forget to speak again about the release of public spaces, occupied by private properties, which the state now remembered existed.
Rama said that this initiative is not an attack on entrepreneurs, while he said that a national regulation is being prepared that will lead the country to the EU.
"This is not an attack on entrepreneurial activity, we are preparing a national regulation that will clearly set boundaries and provide clear spaces for freedom."
What is common is inviolable. It belongs to all together, it cannot be the prey of the attack of someone who dares to become a devourer and a plunderer.
