Government meeting today, Troplins take over the coast
Despite international media claims that there is no narco-state in Albania, when it comes to companies, Prime Minister Edi Rama continues to give positions to people who have connections to individuals with criminal records.
At today's government meeting, a new head of the State Coastal Agency was appointed. Xheni Beqaj was appointed to head this directorate. The latter was previously the director of License Plates and Patents, as well as an inspector at the Environmental Agency.
But why was he chosen to lead the Coastal Agency? Beqaj turns out to be the brother-in-law of Fatmir Troplini, an individual with a criminal record known in the Durrës area, part of the Troplini family.
His name was mentioned in the file of Operation "Revanshi" first and then in Operation "Ura", which took place between SPAK and the Italian authorities.
In the "Revanshi" file, Fatmir Troplini talks to Arben Mërkur in several episodes to find a hired killer for Elson Reçi. Their target was Preng Gjini, who had TNT placed under his car. Against him, the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime has filed charges: "providing; conditions and material means to commit murder", to the detriment of Preng Gjini; "structured criminal group" and "participation in a structured criminal group".
As for the Coastal Agency, it was created in 2014, with the aim of achieving better management and protection of coastal natural assets as well as promoting the country as a tourist destination.
The mission of the AKB is to protect and develop a sustainable environment in the coastal zone, through the monitoring and control of all existing potential of the coastal and marine zone and the environmental assets included within it, as well as the control of tourist activities throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania in order to promote sustainable tourism development.
It seems now that the Troplini will not only have the Port of Durres, but also the entire coast. /Pamphlet
