Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has warned of protests again after the Assembly approved the request of SPAK to pave the way for the arrest of Arben Ahmetaj.
" We must address the citizens, we will address the Albanians to demand the removal of this government with protests. This is a terrible affair. There is no society, no people that can tolerate this affair. Negotiations will be held with other opposition forces" , said Berisha.
Today, the Parliament of Albania paved the way for the arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj. In the special plenary session, 117 deputies voted in favor of SPAK's request, authorizing it to continue the procedure for the arrest of Ahmetaj and allowing the search of the apartment. The surprise was the 3 opposition legislators, Vangjel Dule, Agron Duka and Fatmir Mediu, who abstained.
Prime Minister Edi Rama and 9 ministers have voted in favor of SPAK's request.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj was not present in the Assembly, while shortly before the Assembly convened through a message posted on social networks, he wrote "Louis the 16th was given 4 days before his head was beheaded, not even 24 hours for me! Someone he told me 'they want you in prison'.
