Chief Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, responded to the question of DP MP, Agron Gjekmarkaj, regarding electoral crimes.
Çela announced that several criminal cases are currently under investigation, spread throughout the country, related to the use of public administration and state funds during election campaigns.
According to him, investigations into these issues are still in progress and the results are expected to be announced within this year or early next year.
Question: The administration was used and pressured, why was no criminal prosecution pursued? What are you doing to punish the use of human resources.
Çela: Several measures have been taken, this is a matter for 2025. The General Prosecutor's Office took steps towards strengthening institutional coordination with the CEC, SPAK and the State Police so that we could have a coordinated approach, both in terms of institutional measures and inter-institutional ones. Work was also organized within the prosecution system, working groups were established for the election period with prosecutors dedicated to investigating electoral crime. These were the measures from an administrative point of view. There are several criminal cases, I cannot say the exact number, they are distributed throughout the territory of the republic, related to the use of public administration and the use of funds during the campaign, they are ongoing and a result of the investigations remains to be seen in the future.
