Journalist Artan Hoxha spoke about the stay of former minister Arben Ahmetaj, for five hours in SPAK, where he was questioned by prosecutors about a number of issues.
In an interview for the "Te Paespozuarit" show, Hoxha said that Ahmetaj was summoned as a person under investigation and that he is suspected of four criminal offenses.
"Finally, after being rumored for a long time, Ahmetaj was called to the status of the person under investigation. This was expected for a long time. Two prosecutors have questioned him. Most of the time he was asked about the history of the incinerators, because Mr. Ahmetaj, even though we have two incinerators, Elbasan and Fier, in the final phase, Ahmetaj was not there even though he was accused of having a relationship with Mërtir and Zoto, but until this moment he was not included in the files. Maybe also for the history of the procedures, because there are many technicalities there. He was also questioned because of the knowledge or information he had. The rest was about abuse of office, money laundering, illegal profit.
A villa in Palasa, which belongs to his roommate, has been placed under preventive seizure. The prosecution suspects that the villa may have benefited as a result of the incinerator affair. The rest is the check in the villa in Hamallaj, where an amount of 30 thousand euros was found.
Among other things, it is also the last denunciation about the bills and hotels in several trips that Mr. Ahmetaj has made at the expense of the main characters of the incinerators, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri. Everything that was said was the subject of the session that took place today.
SPAK has the case within the deadlines. The charges are; abuse of office, corruption, money laundering, illegal benefits", said Hoxha.
