SP MPs are expected to go to the Parliament early and use alternative entrances to avoid clashes with protesters.
The Democratic Party is expected to change its protest strategy tomorrow. Unlike what we are usually used to, when protests take place in the afternoon, this time the Democrats will gather in front of Parliament at 10:00.
The Assembly will meet tomorrow to vote on SPAK's request to lift the immunity of MP Belinda Balluku. The Socialist Party has announced that it will reject this request, which is why the opposition has announced a protest.
But what is expected to happen tomorrow?
According to sources, the Democratic Party is expected to "fight" on two fronts: inside the Assembly hall and outside it.
Inside the hall, an attempt is expected to block the vote on the majority report, which rejects SPAK's request. It is not excluded that there will also be tensions during the plenary session.
Clashes may even begin at the entrance to Parliament, after MPs Gazment Bardhi and Klevis Balliu were expelled, who may attempt to enter the hall.
Meanwhile, the situation outside Parliament is expected to be even more tense. As of today, police have surrounded the Parliament building with a metal fence, signaling the possibility of clashes.
Sources indicate that water tankers are expected to be on standby tomorrow, while the use of tear gas is not ruled out in case the situation escalates. There have also been signals that the protest may attempt to approach the entrance to Parliament.
"Citizens have the right to enter that Parliament themselves, when they see that their representatives are being prevented from carrying out their mission. They have the right to directly exercise their sovereignty," declared former MP Asllan Dogjani.
On the other hand, the Socialist Party is expected to follow a plan to avoid any clashes with the protesters.
The majority MPs have been notified to appear at the Assembly early, around 08:00, to avoid blockages and tensions outside the building. They have been ordered not to miss any of them.
They are also expected to use alternative entrances, both to enter and exit the hall, as one of the opposition's scenarios is the isolation of MPs within Parliament.
Hundreds of police forces are expected to be on standby to guarantee order and security during the protest. Meanwhile, vehicle traffic in the area around Parliament is expected to be limited or blocked during the protest. / Pamphlet
