The socialist deputy Erion Braçe and the democrat Edmond Spaho debated during the meeting of the Economy Commission online, where the 2024 fiscal package was being considered on the agenda.
During his speech, deputy Spaho said that the Assembly approved the budget for 5 minutes, while he warned again of the same situation in the Assembly if the majority does not change its attitude towards the demands of the opposition.
"Representatives of the USA, Britain, Germany and the European Union have drawn attention to the need for a normal parliament in accordance with the laws, and that the dialogue between the majority and the opposition is an essential element for integration in the European Union.
They are what we have been asking for for a long time, for the parliament to return to normality, to meet the legitimate demands for the creation of the parliamentary investigative commissions as well as for the election reform commission. The time has come for you to put an end to your stubborn and intolerant attitude, and respect the constitutional rights of the opposition, and stop voting and applauding as if you were an automaton and not politicians of a country that will join the EU," said Spaho .
On the other hand, deputy Braçe took the floor for retort, saying that according to him, lighting the fire in the assembly is a criminal event, while emphasizing that the assembly should have reported it.
He said that what burst into flames in the hall was not smoke but fuel.
"The fire in the Assembly is a pure criminal act, which endangers the lives of not only the deputies, but which endangers the institutional and constitutional life of the Republic of Albania", said Braçe .

Erion Braçe: Since Monday, I want to say a few words to list some facts from November 1st onwards. The budget was not approved in 5 minutes in principle, only voting took place.
The budget has been examined in the economy committee since November 1, presentation, discussion, question-and-answer, proposals were made. There are over 13 sessions in just 20 days that have been held by the Economy Committee. There were discussions, questions and answers, as well as necessary clarifications in writing, not only orally, which received the necessary answers. This commission that we are discussing today has not missed a single figure that has been requested.
The budget has not been approved yet, because the item-by-item discussion is what counts. The vote on December 7 is the process of approving the state budget. Who had the presence of mind to follow the fight, the budget was voted on in 5 minutes.
On Monday, there was no raising of hands, but a criminal event took place in the Parliament hall, which we are used to even with smokers. But what burst into flames in the hall was not smoke, it was fuel, and to light a fire in the middle of the hall, where there are 140 people inside it, is of course a crime. I am surprised that the Parliament has not reported this crime.
